Stay Lifehacks
A great way to get the most of your stay is getting into the slow flow of the hotel. Lay your days out to hit the town in the a.m. when temperatures are lower, with a later return for some serious chilling by the cool swimming pool. This swimming pool really does feel like a real oasis and very often you can take time out there; chilling with a book or listening to fifty shades of howler monkey and tropical birds is pretty incredible. It’s jut one of many rather cool things about this place.
You really get the best of the spot if you make that quick 10-minute drive to the next town of Samara from this peaceful destination of Carrillo. That way, you get Carrillo's quiet energy and the busy one of Samara at the same time. A great hint is spending your day at serene Playa Carrillo and later in the evening go over to Samara to enjoy its much wider line of beachfront restaurants, lively bars, and shops. This combination is a perfect balance for your holiday.
‘Pura Vida’ We Hope You Have A Great Time with Us. Take an Uber/Taxi to a local “soda.” Here at the corner of 13th and 4th, you can taste a ‘casado’ – Costa Rican traditional lunch plate of rice, beans, salad, fried plantains with your choice of fish, chicken or beef and it’s delicious, filling, and very budget-friendly. Enjoy many cheap tasting delicacies without feeling guilty about overspending.
Finally, not to be missed in this area is the spectacular marine life. Your hotel can book you on a dolphin and whale-watching tour (whales are seasonal) that leaves from Sámara with a company out of Sámara. For further independent explorations, kayak rentals are available in Sámara, and one can paddle out to the beautiful and uninhabited little Isla Chora standing just off shore. It's a great place for snorkeling in those still waters and for having a complete little beached-out holiday all to oneself.
