El Sueño Tropical Hotel is set in a really peaceful, nature spot where walking is favorable though the major delights are a short and delightful walk away. The only great place reachable on foot is the famous Playa Carrillo – said to be one of the most immaculate beaches in all Costa Rica. Within 15-20 min pleasant walking visitors reach this stunning palm-fringed, white-sand bay; with tranquil, crystal-clear turquoise waters great for swimming and refreshing for families with children. Major development has been avoided in the beach area itself so that it has been kept as it naturally is.

Although the hotel, for the most part, feels isolated, there are a few dining options that can be reached on foot. A 5 to 10-minute walk will take you to a couple of small local restaurants and ‘sodas,’ where you can try real and reasonably priced local food. So you have an option of having a casual dinner without having to drive anywhere. For a greater choice of restaurants, shops, and nightlife, one would have to travel to the busy town of Sámara, which is just a short 10-minute drive; yet, around the hotel itself is all about peace and quiet.

Here nature is the real walking experience. The hotel’s gardens of their own are paradise for great wildlife spotting, where on a daily occurrence you’ll be hearing and seeing howler monkeys, iguanas, and a vast array of tropical birds. The property is surrounded by quiet rural roads which further extend safety and are quite pleasant for strolling in the morning or evening, helping you to totally relish the tranquil ‘Pura Vida” ambience of Costa Rica well away from the more crowded tourist centers.
